Policies

Registration:
A non-refundable registration fee is required yearly at time of registration.

Payment of Fees:
Tuition is a yearly fee that is broken down to a monthly rate for your convenience.  Tuition must be paid by the 10th of the month.  A $10 late fee will be applied to your account if payment is received late.  The first month of tuition must be paid at the time of the first lesson. You will receive a $5 discount monthly if you choose to sign up for automatic withdrawal.  If you choose to pay your entire years tuition up front you will receive a 10% discount.  The month of September is non-refundable.

Payment by Automatic Bank Account Debit or Automatic Credit Card Charge: 
Tuition can be debited from your bank account or charged to your credit card the 5th day of each month from October through June.  You must sign an auto-debit or automatic credit card charge authorization form.  You must pay for your first month's tuition at the time of your first lesson.

Class Supplies:
All students participating in the year-end recital need to purchase required class supplies at Leigh's Dance and Active Wear Shop by February 1.  Shoes must be worn in class.  Ballet shoe strings need to be tied and tucked in or clipped.  Please clearly mark student's name on all property.  Leigh's School of Dance is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Recital Production Fees:
Production fee of $125 is due on or before December 1.  If you sign up for the automatic withdrawal, you will be charged this production fee automatically with your Dec payment.  This fee includes costume, alterations, production expenses, recital T-Shirt.  Students who choose not to participate in our recital must fill out a non-participation form in person with administrative staff by Nov 15th to avoid production fee.  Production is non-refundable after December 15th. 

Withdrawal and Refunds:
One-month notice from the first of the month is required to discontinue any classes.  Withdrawal must be done in person and will not be accepted over the phone.  Withdrawal must occur within the first 7 days of the month, and if you do not withdrawal before the 7th you will be charged for the following month.  To withdraw from classes a parent or adult student must:
1. Inform school administration in person, and
2. Complete and sign a withdrawal form provided by the school office.
All automatic bank debiting or credit card charges will stop after the one-month notice period.  Leigh's School of Dance reserves the right to terminate lessons to any students without notice.  In such a case a refund for unused lessons will be given.

Absences:
Absences are excused and you may make up your lesson at any other scheduled class time that is the same class.  If there is a short month, you are welcome to make up the missed weeks.  Check with your teacher for the best time to make-up.

Parent’s Responsibility to be Aware of Dates and Events:
It is the responsibility of the parent or adult student to be aware of all dance school activities, such as viewing days, recitals, extra classes, and dates the school is open or closed.  The school will post all such notices on the dance “What’s New” board or the dance bulletin board as well as sending monthly “Dance Notes” home with the students to keep parents up to date with what is happening.  Leigh’s also offers monthly newsletters via e-mail.  Sign up at the front desk.  It is the parent’s responsibility to regularly check these boards to ensure they are informed.  It is the responsibility of the parents or adult students to inform the dance school of any address or telephone number change.

Care of Students:
The school is not responsible for providing before or after class care for students.  Parents with students under the age of 9 are to pick up their student in the classroom.  Students are not to be left unattended at the school for an excessive time before or after class.

Injuries:
Parents, legal guardians of minor students, and adult students waive the right to any legal action against Leigh’s School of Dance for any injury sustained on school property resulting from normal dance activity or any other activity conducted by the students before, during, or after class time.

Photo Release:
The school is hereby granted permission to take photographs of the students to use in brochures, web sites, posters, advertisements and other promotional materials the dance school creates.  Permission is also hereby granted for Leigh’s School of Dance to copyright such photographs in its name.

Miscellaneous:
Any class with less than six students may be combined or canceled.  If this occurs, you will be notified and every effort will be made to find a replacement class.  No gum is allowed in class or in costume.  No food or drink is allowed in the lobby – there is a snack area at the back door upstairs.  Classes are closed to visitors except on scheduled visiting days.
